Why Is Community So Important?

Why Is Community So Important?

As humans, we are all connected in some way or another through this pandemic! It’s been amazing to see so many people locally and globally connect and support each other!

I hope you find your community tribe, whether that’s your family, or friends both old and new online! You are not alone!

One thing I’ve learnt in this life is that we can’t walk it alone! Community allows us to support one another, interact, and share experiences and our life struggles. Having this open bond with others is what builds valuable relationships, and gives us a deeper sense of belonging.

You may like walking alone, but you need others to walk with you through life. Let me give you three reasons.

1. It’s Safer

Have you ever had to walk through a dark alley at night or down a long road in the countryside by yourself? It can be a little scary. It’s safer to walk through life with others.

2. It’s Supportive

There’s an old Zambian proverb that says, “When you run alone, you run fast. But when you run together, you run far.” Life is not a 50-yard dash; it’s a marathon! The only way you’re going to finish the race well and not burn out is by having other people involved in your life through meaningful relationships.

3. It’s Smarter

You learn more by walking with others than you do by yourself.

Travelling has allowed me to connect with so many wonderful people, from strangers turned into friends, both online and offline. There’s so much power in the community and I hope we can continue to connect with each other virtually when it’s safe for us to meet in person! Over the next few weeks, I will be featuring some special guests from around the world to take you on a culinary experience! #FoodTravelSeries

For now, I want to hear from you! How are you connecting and communicating with someone? Comment below ❤️🌍 Stay home, stay blessed, love Joyce x

This is so important. I have been encouraged by how people have rallied together during these tough times, and created offshoots of support and collaboration. We’re all we’ve got. Ps: looking forward to the food travel series – well done, Joyce 💛.
